things that survive a pluto return
- dynasties
- trees
- sharks that have their eyes infected by parasites, living under deep, deep sea, heart beating every 12 seconds, takes 150 years to mature
- sponges
- microorganisms
(come to think of it though not many of the dynasties made it past the last square before the actual return)
On this list, only 2-5 could potentially survive more than two pluto returns, according to wikipedia. while the first type only a handful of them survive more than one. the last three items are either very mundane, or small stuff. i guess that is why some historians like to talk about capillary functions of power. you walk past them every day by the park and do not notice it.
and to think how many saturn returns they must have endured! and how many, many jupiter, mars, venus, mercury, solar, lunar, nodal returns! and all these things sucks in terms of experience, to have parasite poked out of your eyes! thus returns are overly glorified; live through some amount of opposition, since apparently that's when fun things happen, and make sure your life ended before the last square. or maybe you don't have to, since many people just died without making sure of it themselves. or many people just dies.
as i was writing this, I was also having a small lunar return. (in the 9th, very suitable for writing serious academic, spiritual texts like this.) another testaments to why returns sucks. people think they represent some kind of cycles. usually, it's like having that uncle who left some years ago coming back home, where everything has changed and settled down and the family has gone through all stages of grief or whatnot, and moved on. it's better when they are just in some foreign unknown country sending postcards, than all the awkwardness and uncomfortable moments that eventually leads to disappointment or even conflicts when they expectedly/unexpectedly comes back.
